Your weekly budget, step by step.

Set up your allowance, add spending, plan next week and keep a backup.

Set up your first weekly budget

Start with the amount you normally have available each week.

  1. Choose Set up my budget.
  2. Enter your Weekly amount.
  3. Choose your Allowance day.
  4. Check the first budget date and opening amount.
  5. Choose whether to Roll over leftover money.
  6. Check the first-week preview, then choose Start my budget.

The balance is based on what you enter. It does not confirm the balance in your bank account.

Check this week

Open This Week to see the amount left, your allowance, money carried in, extra money and total spending. If you spend more than the available budget, the app states how far you are over budget.

Add an expense

  1. Choose Add expense.
  2. Enter a short name, such as Coffee or Laundry.
  3. Enter the Cost in GBP.
  4. Leave Date & time as Now, or open it to choose a different time.
  5. Choose Save expense.

The updated weekly balance appears when the expense has saved.

Add money you receive

Choose Add money for a refund or extra money. Enter what the money is for, the amount in pounds and the date and time. Choose Save money to add it to that week.

Correct or remove an entry

Choose an entry from Recent transactions. Change its name, amount, date or time, then save it. To remove it, choose Delete and read the confirmation first.

If you change an older week, the app tells you how the current balance will change before it saves the correction.

Look back or plan ahead

  • Choose Past weeks to review earlier balances and entries.
  • Choose Next week to see the next allowance period or add an expense you already know about.

Change next week’s allowance

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Change the weekly amount or the rollover choice.
  3. Choose Save.

The app states when the change will begin. It does not rewrite earlier weeks.

Add the Weekly budget widget

  1. Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen.
  2. Choose the option to add a widget.
  3. Find Weekly budget.
  4. Choose the small or medium size and add it to the Home Screen.

The widget uses the latest saved budget information. If it says it needs an update, open the app so it can try again.

Create or restore a backup

Open Settings and choose Create backup. Save the file somewhere you trust because it contains your spending information and has no extra password protection.

To restore, choose Restore backup and select the file. Read the preview before choosing Replace. Your current budget is left unchanged if the file cannot be restored.

If something will not save

Keep the form open and use Retry. Your draft stays on screen after a saving problem. Do not remove the app while trying to recover information that has not been backed up.

Contact support if you still cannot continue.
